Question: What is the age group for your league?

Answer: The age group for our league is ten(10) to twelve(12) years of age. Players over this age group will have to play for the leagues: CBFA (age group 13 to 15 years of age) and the CMFA (grades 9 to 11).

Question: How do I know what team to try-out for?

Answer: All teams are divided by boundaries drawn up by and agreed upon by all the Calgary football leagues.You must play for the team that is in your neighborhood/area. To find out what team is in your area please view our boundary map.

Question: What if I don't want to play for the team in my area?

Answer: In order to play for a different team that is not in your area, you must have the head coach from the team that is in your area sign a release form. Without the release form signed by the head coach you must play for the team that's in your area.

Question: When do try-outs start?

Answer: Every team is different with their official try-out or registration day some teams register in June and some July. You must contact the team that is in your area to find out when this begins. No team is allowed to practice with equipment before August 1st.

Question: When does the regular season start?

Answer: The CPFA regular season usually starts in the 2nd to last weekend of August. The is usually a couple Jamborees (exhibition games) in the middle of August. When the regular season schedule is drawn up for the year, it will be posted on our schedule section of our website.

Question: How often does a team practice.

Answer: Each team is different with how many days a week the team practices. This all depends on what the team Coaches feel is necessary. Each team usually averages three(3) days a week of practice.

Question: What are the fees for your league?

Answer: The fees for our league are $150 per player. The team you play for will also add on on a team fee to cover charges for jerseys, practice field, game videos etc. This charge is different for each team but averages $150.

Question: What days are the games played?

Answer:The CPFA try's to schedule all games on saturdays starting at 9:00 am with the last game at 3:00 pm. Although sometimes games are rescheduled due to team emergency's. These games are usually rescheduled on a week night starting at 6:30pm with the last game at 8:00pm.

Question: Do the players have to supply their own football equipment to play.

Answer: Unlike hockey all teams have their own equipment supplied and funded by the CPFA. Players will only have to have their own specialized equipment like football cleats, neck and arm guards, football gloves etc.
